The idea was to design a 1:4 scale robot that sits inside a car interior. The seperate rapid prototyped body parts are designed to save material. The plan was to keep the productions costs as low as possible. The bodyparts are connected through a mixture of wires and rubber sleeves. The 1:4 scale model has 100% human proportions. I designed the robot and modelled it in Autodesk Alias. Then I exported the body parts as .stl files so you can print it on the Objet 3D Printer. After that I painted the parts in white and assembled the robot. The robot is flexible so you can put him in any position you want.

The car interior model is designed by Stefan Göppel. He worked on the interior and he needed a figure to demonstrate his steering concept, so we decided to combine forces. We worked independently but we always had to keep in mind the the interior and the robot should share one design language.
